The Fantasies Aren't Final, But They Ain't Here Either
Esteemed Final Fantasy Article Writer Moves On.

You're gonna be waiting a long time for the next installment, it seems.

Yesterday, popular gaming and anime-oriented website Socksmakepeoplesexy.Net surprised its users by announcing a merger and forming an entirely new brand that took effect immediately. Users of the old site were understandably quite confused at first, but as the day wore on, it seemed things were getting back into a normal rhythm as Giant Bpwn (the name chosen for the newly-formed gang of webmasters) carried out its first day of operation smoothly.

Things weren't as hunky-dory as the site owners may have hoped, however, when users began noticing a large portion of the site's old content was now missing.

Patrick Roesle was responsible for a rather large and popular retrospective on Square-Enix's Final Fantasy series. Pat's years of hard work and dedication had gone missing literally overnight, and more than a few users were unhappy about this change and were demanding answers.

A user named "Seppucrow" wrote:

"Those articles are the only reason I even read this dumb site and if those are gone what the hell other reason does this site have to exist? Is there really even anything else on this site at all?"

Another user, "Crono Maniac" was just as confused and outraged, posting:

"I'm honestly baffled.
It seems pretty unfair to take these articles away from us without even giving us fair warning that they wouldn't be around anymore.
I honestly don't know what I'm going to do with my online time anymore."

The day continued without answers, and users seemed to grow more and more agitated by the lack of communication from either the site's owners or Pat R. himself.

We reached out to Polly S Hate, former owner of Socksmakepeoplesexy.Net and current chief editor of Giant Bpwn's news department for answers and she granted us a short phone interview where she issued the following statement:

"It's a pretty tough time for all of us right now, ya know. We're transitioning into the new site, I'm trying to stay on top of all the news that's breaking, and sometimes things slip through the cracks. I do apologize to our readers about that. Our lack of communication wasn't us ignoring anybody, we're just really busy getting everything situated in the office, setting up appointments to talk to developers, and getting E3 plans put together.

The story with Pat...I mean... Ya know... I don't want this to sound the way it probably does... but when money gets involved, everybody gets a little weird. Sometimes things just don't work out the way you hope they would. We had a good run, but unfortunately Pat won't be writing for Giant Bpwn, which is a real bummer for us all..."

She went onto clarify the statement saying:

"...To put it bluntly, Pat didn't sign a contract, so legally we can't post his work on the site anymore, past or present. I'm not saying that situation won't change, but that's just how it is now."

Polly went on to explain her previous experience working with Pat during his time at Socksmakepeoplesexy.Net as well.

"Pat's a cool guy...on a good day. The work he did for SMPS was fantastic and drove a great number of people to the community. There were also times when I literally wanted to strangle him, run him over with my car, and stab him in the eye with a dull knife...all of that. It just goes with working with someone for an extended period of time.

The time off from working with one another will probably be a good thing for the both of us. Any unresolved tensions wouldn't really be conducive to the work environment we're trying to establish now at Giant Bpwn."

Polly was quick reiterate that she wouldn't rule out the opportunity work with Pat again, and that his material may appear again someday on the site, but there are currently no plans for a reunion at the present time.
